From a dream inspired by two beloved dogs to four thriving locations across Southern California.
Born Out of Love
Dioji K-9 Resort & Athletic Club was born out of love — love for two dogs named Kirby the Labrador and Bailey the Newfoundland. In 2007, our founders opened the first Dioji in Goleta, California, with a simple vision: to create a place where dogs could be dogs, free from cages and full of joy.
The name "Dioji" is "D-O-G-I" — because at Dioji, every dog is treated as an individual.
What started as one location has grown into four facilities across Southern California.
Today, our team of 180+ dedicated dog lovers cares for thousands of dogs each year, providing boarding, daycare, spa services, and more.

Our Philosophy
We believe dogs thrive when they can be themselves. That's why every Dioji facility is completely cage-free. Our dogs sleep in open spaces, play in large groups organized by size and temperament, and enjoy amenities like bone-shaped pools and 10,000+ square foot play areas.
Our philosophy is simple: treat every dog like family. From round-the-clock overnight staff to daily report cards with photos, we go above and beyond to ensure every pup — and every parent — feels confident, comfortable, and cared for.

We are proudly cage-free — always have been, always will be. We believe that dogs deserve open spaces, social interaction, and the freedom to move naturally. Every aspect of our facilities, from sleeping arrangements to play areas, is designed with this commitment in mind.
